The JNBA Difference
As a fiduciary advisor, we are held to the highest standards of our industry, which means that every decision we make is with your best interests in mind. We stand by your side through whatever life throws your way, understanding what is most important to you and delivering thoughtful, comprehensive solutions to help you achieve your personal financial goals – both today and long into the future.
Irreplaceable Partners
We are dedicated to you, your family, and your goals for the future. We take time to get to know you so we can understand where you’re coming from and where you want to go.
Results-Driven Advocates
We remain focused on one thing – helping you achieve your vision of financial success. That’s why we hold ourselves accountable to achieving your goals. Our success is measured by our ability to deliver results.
Trust Builders
We understand that you put a lot of trust in your financial advisor. We serve as stewards of that trust by diligently guarding your confidentiality, fulfilling our promises, and putting your interests first in all we do.
Innovative Thinkers
Once we have a complete understanding of your goals, values, and any challenges you may face on the path toward achieving them, we help develop solutions, challenging ourselves to be creative idea generators and problem solvers to help you along the way. We strive to consistently learn, advocate, and add value for our clients.
Good People
Our people are compassionate and committed to doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. We see our clients as people, not numbers, and we strive to build long-term relationships. We are honored to be entrusted with your personal financial goals, and we are driven to help you achieve them.
Put simply, we succeed
when you succeed.
As an independent, fee-only wealth management firm, our interests are aligned with yours. We don’t accept commissions or apply hidden fees. We charge only a percentage of the assets we manage on your behalf. This ensures our interests are aligned.

Four Decades of Advocacy
JNBA Financial Advisors was founded in 1978 by Judith Brown, who wanted to build a different type of advisory firm – one where the interests of advisors were truly aligned with those of clients. She wanted to sit on the same side of the table as the families with whom she worked, without the burden and potential conflicts of interest that come with selling products and generating commissions. Above all else, she wanted to help people achieve their financial life goals.
Judith’s client-first approach has guided JNBA for 45 years, allowing us to help thousands of clients reach their goals. Today, Judith’s legacy is carried on by her son, Richard, and his wife, Kim, who continue to lead the firm as CEO and president. Driven by a fierce commitment to doing what’s right for clients, Richard, Kim, and the firm’s leadership team constantly look for ways to improve upon JNBA’s services, tools, and technologies. They believe in a team approach to serving clients and provide advisors with the freedom and flexibility to focus on building long-term relationships, first and foremost.
JNBA has grown to become a nationally recognized wealth management firm. Our independent philosophy and innovative business model allow us to tailor investment strategies and develop custom financial life plans to help each client achieve his or her goals. We constantly review and reassess both financial life plans and investment opportunities to help ensure they continue to meet our clients’ needs as their lives and finances evolve over time.
After nearly five decades of serving clients, we’ll be here for the long term.

Commitment to Community
We strive every day to make a measurable impact on people’s lives, both at work and in our communities.
As a firm committed to helping people achieve their financial life goals, realize their vision for the future, and live life to the fullest, it’s only natural that we would seek to give back to the communities in which we live and work. We don’t just write checks and go to meetings, we dig in and get to work. We volunteer. We initiate. We lead.
As with everything we do, we jump into community service with both feet. Literally. Like when we take the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics. In Minnesota. In the middle of the winter…
Not only does our community involvement help others and provide us with fulfillment, it also helps us understand our clients’ commitment to philanthropy and enhances our ability to develop effective charitable giving strategies. We know from experience – the best way to do well is by doing good.
