17 years on Barron’s list of Top 1,500 Financial Advisors? That’s not luck.

Cärin Viertel, Director of Client Services

At JNBA Financial Advisors, we don’t do what we do for awards. But it is always an honor when the work we deeply care about is recognized, especially by a trusted publication like Barron’s.

For the 17th year in a row, our CEO and Chairman, Richard S. Brown and JNBA, have been named to the Barron’s list of the Top 1,500 Financial Advisors in the country and once again ranked in the top two advisors in the state of Minnesota.

This run is no coincidence. It recognizes Richard’s leadership and is a nod to our mission-driven model. JNBA’s unique multi-generational team has fostered longstanding and authentic relationships with the people we serve every day. In fact, JNBA has maintained a 97 percent client retention rate since we started tracking in 2001.

The Barron’s ranking takes into account assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice, and philanthropic work. The ranking rubric aligns with JNBA’s values of independence, advocacy, and human connection, which we have prioritized since our founding days.

As our President, Kim Brown, noted: “Being named to this list for the last 17 years is added proof that we have something special here at JNBA. Our team lives and breathes putting our clients and our community first. Our people and processes – including upholding our fiduciary commitment – are focused on serving our clients, which is particularly important during periods of uncertainty.”

Accolades aside, we are driven every day to help our clients live the lives they’ve dreamed of while supporting our community. We’re certainly proud of awards and national rankings, but we are most proud of staying true to our values and always putting our clients first.
