A three-part series on cyber security
The internet is a high-speed landscape for instant information, day-to-day communication, and modern conveniences. With the click of a button, we are now absorbing world news and events from every corner of the globe. We’re fielding texts and electronic mail from friends and family, as well as brands and businesses. And we’re expediting everyday errands with GPS-guided directions, online shopping orders, and electronic financial transactions.
With all of this online activity, it’s more important than ever to protect yourself and your assets from criminals who are looking to capitalize on your data. In a new, three-part podcast from the JNBA Studio titled “Staying Safe Online,” JNBA Director of Client Services Cärin Viertel talks with Brent Morris and Brandon Nohr, two experts on cyber security from Success Computer Consulting, an IT firm and trusted business partner of JNBA Financial Advisors.
In the first episode, Morris and Nohr share how these scams work, some of the more prevalent scams, and how AI technology is now used to create even more sophisticated scams. They also talk about what you can do to prevent falling victim to scams including using complex passwords, updated anti-virus software, and a three-step simple method to better protect yourself.
Knowledge is your best defense when it comes to highly sophisticated, ever-changing cyber scams. Along with listening to the 18-minute podcast, watch this two-minute video, created by Success Computer Consulting about cyber scams and the simple yet effective “Pause-Think-Act” concept.
