New Year’s Resolutions

Financial Planning Committee

As we enter the first weeks of 2024, we look forward to setting our intentions in the upcoming year. Often, New Year’s resolutions focus on health, habits, or skills. But resolutions can be beneficial for your finances, too. As you begin to refocus and set goals for the year ahead, we encourage you to think about your financial aspirations for 2024 and consider crafting goals to support the pursuit of those achievements.

INTENTION.

A study released in 2023 by the Financial Planning Standards Board found that people who work with a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) enjoy life more, have a better understanding of their finances, and are more confident about their finances. If one of your goals for 2024 is to define your financial and life goals further, partnering with a CFP® professional or professionals with comparable designations and experience may help you set intentions – and keep you accountable.

CLARIFY.

Often, pausing to clarify your financial goals or reviewing your budget for larger expenses can provide guidance for the decisions you will make throughout 2024. By taking the time to think through various scenarios, you will become more strategic in your decision-making and have more clarity around purpose and goals.

DECLUTTER.

If you are finding yourself feeling financially scattered, use the new year as an opportunity for a fresh start. In this age of advanced technology, there are many tools and resources to help you organize your finances in the name of decluttering and streamlining.

As your holistic life planner and accountability partner, we at JNBA are here to provide support so you can achieve your goals. Be sure to share with us what you want to accomplish in 2024.
