I hope you are all staying safe and doing the best you can to navigate these interesting and unprecedented times.
So much has changed for all of us so quickly, and for me personally, gaining clarity on what I truly value has been a positive. Simplicity is the theme. It’s not a drastic change but it is a shift. One good example is Fridays. Fridays used to represent for me the beginning of the weekend. That’s how I always looked at it and that’s likely how many view Fridays. But now Fridays are different – they are the day I get to see the smiling faces of our resilient and amazing team. Every Friday at 8 a.m. we do a company video call. We share stories from our week, plans for our weekends and play some fun games to get us all laughing. We enjoy simpler times, together. I can’t tell you how much I miss our team and how much I look forward to seeing them all together. We miss each other, and frankly, we miss all of you.
Technology is amazing in that it allows us to stay connected with you and continue to work diligently on your behalf. We are extremely grateful for that. And we are grateful to all of you for your flexibility and open-minded attitude toward remote meetings. It’s working well and allowing us to continue to have meaningful conversations.
As you know most of our team has been working remotely for the past eight weeks. A few are in the office at a safe distance. Our plan is to continue business in that manner through June, at which time we will re-evaluate. To that point, we have crafted a brief survey we plan to send out very soon. We value your opinions and hope you will take a few minutes to participate to ensure we understand what is on your mind, and how we can best serve you in this new environment.
These are difficult times for so many people. We want you to know that we are always here and available to talk. A few of you have shared that you have friends and family that are struggling to navigate certain situations. We want to help. If you know someone you think could benefit from a conversation with us, please do not hesitate to have them contact a member of your Advisory Team or any one of us. We are available to do what we can to help, whether answering questions and even just listening.
Richard and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Team JNBA. The company you keep is a reflection of the joy and success in your life and we could not be more grateful for this amazing group of professionals who have so effectively adjusted to our new normal. And to all of you, for the continued trust you put in us as we navigate through these ever-changing and unpredictable times. We appreciate you. We are here for you. And, we will get through to the other side of this and be better for it.
