I like to think of negotiations as a win-win proposition: What’s an outcome that will make both parties satisfied? Sure, that may mean you need to compromise on some facets of the deal, but that’s okay. Negotiations are not necessarily a “winner take all” scenario. Be ready – know ahead of time which points you’re willing to be flexible on, and which ones aren’t up for debate.
