Chief Investment Strategist/Senior Advisor

John has managed assets for foundations, endowments, corporations and affluent families for 15 years, constructing customized investment solutions to exceed his clients’ goals and objectives. Serving as JNBA’s Chief Investment Strategist, John is a key component of the firm’s investment committee that drives investment strategy and decision making. He has particular expertise in portfolio analysis and construction, strategies for mitigating portfolio taxes, and investment risk management.

John also has extensive experience in defined contribution plan construction and analysis. His experience as an educator in retirement plan education workshops is often valuable in helping clients and their families understand the key components to building and monitoring the appropriate investment strategy. John’s clients and colleagues admire his passion for the financial markets.

Prior to joining JNBA, John worked as a Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo and Investment Manager at Silver Oak Wealth Management, both located in Minneapolis.

John and his wife Kirstie enjoy new dining experiences with friends and family in the spare time their two daughters allow.
